xorlab, a Zurich-based cybersecurity company, has raised €5 million in a Series A+ financing round to fund its expansion across Europe and to further develop its email security platform. The company plans to begin its growth in the DACH region, Benelux and the Nordics, according to EU-Startups.
The round was led by existing investor Spicehaus Partners, with continued participation from Grapha Holding, EquityPitcher Ventures and ZKB Start-up Finance.
Founded in 2015 by ETH Zurich computer science graduates Antonio Barresi and Matthias Ganz, xorlab offers email security for on-premises, hybrid and cloud environments. Its platform uses behavioural AI to assess messages against an organisation's normal communication patterns. Rather than depending mainly on known signatures, the technology flags anomalies such as unfamiliar senders, unexpected requests or first-time payment instructions that may point to phishing or business email compromise (BEC) attempts, Tech.eu reported.
