What we cover

We follow the technology story across the Africa–Europe corridor: the companies raising money and shipping products, the regulation that reshapes markets, and the infrastructure — payments, energy, connectivity, compute — that decides what gets built and where. We care most about the stories that cross between the two continents, because those are the ones that neither a purely African nor a purely European outlet tends to follow all the way through.

How our stories are made

Most articles on AfroEuropa are produced by our newsroom engine — software that reads public reporting from named outlets, then writes an original summary of the facts in our own words. We want to be plain about what that does and does not mean:

• We do not do original, first-hand reporting on these stories. We are not in the room. We read the outlets that were, we credit them by name, and we link to them so you can read the original.
• Facts come from the cited sources. Every article carries a Sources list naming each outlet and reporter we drew from. If a fact is not in one of those sources, it should not be in our story — and if it is, that is a mistake we want to hear about.
• The framing is ours, and it can be wrong.Which stories we pick, how we group them, and what we think matters is editorial judgement. Errors are ours, not our sources'.
• Every machine-assisted story says so, on the story. You will never have to guess whether a person wrote something on this site.

Who is accountable

Doyenify OÜ publishes AfroEuropa. Editorial responsibility rests with Olumide Oluyide, Founder — including for stories produced by the engine. If a story is wrong, that is a human being's responsibility, and you can reach that person.

We think it is worth saying what we are not: AfroEuropa does not have foreign bureaus, and we do not employ a masthead of correspondents. It is a small operation that uses software to cover more ground than its size would otherwise allow, and credits the journalists whose work makes that possible.
