Discord has announced a feature called Server Web Pages, intended to make content hosted on its publicly accessible servers findable through search engines including Google and DuckDuckGo, according to TechPowerUp.
The change targets what Discord describes as discoverable servers, the public servers often used by companies and game studios for support, announcements, and guides. According to TechPowerUp, Discord noted that much of this material, which previously lived on blogs and community or official forums, has migrated into Discord servers, leaving it effectively locked behind a Discord account and hard to find on the wider internet. Discord said it wants to address that problem.
Engadget reported that the platform's Discoverable Servers are set to become considerably more discoverable, and that users will be able to opt out.
