Apple has updated its base 14-inch MacBook Pro and the iMac lineup with its M6 system-on-chip, according to GSMArena and Tom's Hardware. The MacBook Pro previously ran the M5 chip from 2025, while the iMac was last refreshed in 2024 with the M4. Both machines keep the designs they have carried for years.
In the 14-inch MacBook Pro, the M6 is configured with a 12-core CPU (in a 2+4+6 layout) and a 12-core GPU that includes Neural Accelerators in each core and hardware-accelerated ray tracing, plus a separate dual 16-core Neural Engine for on-device AI tasks. The base configuration ships with 16GB of unified memory and can be configured to 24GB or 32GB.
