Apple has introduced its first MacBook Pro models with touchscreen support, marking the first time touch input has reached the Mac line. The company detailed the redesigned laptops at an event in Los Angeles, according to Tom's Hardware.
The new 14-inch and 16-inch models sit alongside Apple's existing range and feature a display the company calls PROLED XDR. GSMArena reported that the screen uses the same Tandem OLED technology found in the iPad Pro, stacking two OLED panels to boost light output. The displays are rated for up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness and 1,000 nits of sustained brightness, with a claimed contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1. ProMotion supports refresh rates ranging from 10 Hz to 120 Hz, per Tom's Hardware.
