AI Firms Set to Brief UN Security Council on Technology Risks
Executives from OpenAI, Anthropic and DeepSeek are reported to appear before the UN Security Council this week as it reviews AI risks to global security.

Leading artificial intelligence companies are expected to brief the United Nations Security Council this week as the body examines the risks the technology poses to global security, according to reports from Decrypt and Cointelegraph.
Cointelegraph reported that Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei and OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman are anticipated to address the council. Decrypt reported that DeepSeek will also speak on AI risks during the same session, appearing alongside Amodei.
Decrypt noted that Amodei has spent the past year describing China's government as the biggest threat facing the AI industry, placing him on the same stage as the Chinese firm DeepSeek.
The session is set to bring together developers of the technology to advise the Security Council as it considers AI's implications for international security.
