
Connect Ventures Reaches $55M First Close of $80M Fund V for European Founders
The early-stage firm's fifth fund is anchored by the British Business Bank and will target technical founding teams across Europe.

Connect Ventures has completed a first close of $55 million on its fifth fund, which is targeting a total of $80 million to invest in early-stage technology companies across Europe, according to Tech.eu and Sifted.
The fund is anchored by the British Business Bank. Returning limited partners include Aldea Ventures, Sella Venture Partners and Molten Ventures. The firm has also brought in new investors, among them European family offices and founders of companies it previously backed.
Connect Ventures leads pre-seed rounds, writing cheques ranging from $500,000 to $5 million for companies founded across Europe. Fund V will place particular emphasis on founding teams whose technical expertise sits at the core of their business, shaping the product, ambitions and development of the company.
