The Witcher 4 Skips Gamescom Gameplay Reveal as Release Timeline Debated
CD Projekt Red says The Witcher 4 will not appear at Gamescom opening night, though reporting differs on whether the launch lands in 2026 or 2028.

Polish studio CD Projekt Red has confirmed that The Witcher 4 will not feature at Gamescom opening night. Instead, the developer plans to present The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt content titled Songs of the Past during the event.
Michał Nowakowski, joint-CEO of the company, described the upcoming title as the studio's most ambitious project so far, according to TechPowerUp and Engadget. He noted that more than 500 developers and artists are working on the game.
Reporting on the release timing diverges. TechPowerUp cited Nowakowski as saying no exact launch date has been set, while stating the studio can confirm the game will arrive at some point in 2026. Both TechPowerUp and Engadget headlined a 2028 release window. The company had previously indicated the game would likely launch after 2026.
