The 2026 FIFA World Cup produced more than $20 billion in trading volume across blockchain-based prediction markets, according to a report from blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, cited by BitKE.
The firm reported that over 400,000 unique wallets took part in prediction markets tied to the tournament. Of the total volume recorded between January 2026 and the tournament's conclusion in July 2026, roughly $5.7 billion was generated during the five-week competition itself, about 63% of on-chain prediction market activity in that period.
