Causa Prima, a company building an autonomous finance platform for businesses, has closed a $20 million seed funding round, according to Tech.eu. The round was led by Base10 Partners, with participation from QED Investors and FJ Labs, alongside existing backers Creandum, Kfund and Borusan Ventures.
The raise comes three months after the company's $10 million pre-seed round, taking its total funding to $30 million. Causa Prima was founded by Maex Ament (CEO), Henrik Gebbing and Philip Stanislaus.
The platform is designed to automate financial processes between companies, with a focus on invoice approvals, dispute resolution and payments, areas of corporate finance that remain largely manual despite heavy investment in financial software. It uses autonomous agents to handle communications and negotiations between businesses, including disputed invoices and early-payment requests, rather than relying on finance teams to exchange emails and follow up by hand.
