Photon Bridge, an Eindhoven-based photonics startup previously known as Photon IP, has raised €10 million to develop laser sources for AI and telecom systems, according to EU-Startups and Tech.eu.
The round was co-led by two new backers, the Amadeus APEX Technology Fund and 360 Capital. Existing investors Innovation Industries, Faber, and the Brabant Development Agency (BOM) also increased their stakes. In January 2025, the company had closed a €4.75 million seed round led by Innovation Industries.
The company develops high-power, multi-wavelength laser-source technology for optical interconnects used in AI data centres. It is positioning itself around what it describes as a looming bottleneck: the millions of lasers needed to link increasingly large clusters of AI processors. As clusters expand from thousands to hundreds of thousands of chips, moving data between them is becoming one of the main constraints on performance, the company says.
