
Nvidia Confirms $12.93bn Acquisition of Open-Source AI Platform Hugging Face
Nvidia has confirmed its purchase of French-founded AI model repository Hugging Face, in a deal valued at $12.93 billion and expected to close in the first half of 2027.

Nvidia has confirmed the acquisition of Hugging Face, an open-source artificial intelligence model repository, in a deal valued at $12.93 billion, according to Tech.eu. GamesIndustry.biz reported the figure as $12.9 billion.
Hugging Face was founded in France in 2016 and is now based in New York. Its platform lets developers download AI models, access tools for running them, obtain datasets for training, and collaborate with other developers and researchers. According to Tech.eu, the repository hosts three million models and is used by around 18 million developers.
