NEURA Robotics Acquires Adlatus to Bring Physical AI to Cleaning Robots

The stated goal is to move cleaning robots beyond following fixed routes toward machines that can recognise surfaces and types of soiling, interpret situations, choose cleaning strategies, and learn from operation.

David Reger, founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics, said the company is not buying Adlatus simply to add another cleaning robot to its portfolio, but to give such machines what he described as a new brain, according to EU-Startups. He said cleaning represents a large global labour market and an example of what Physical AI can transform.

The deal follows a recent agreement by NEURA Mobile Robots to acquire the ACTIVE Shuttle automated guided vehicle business from Bosch Rexroth, which brought the ACTIVE Fleet Manager and ROKIT navigation software into the group. EU-Startups reported that the Adlatus acquisition comes weeks after that transaction and follows a €1.2 billion raise. Founded in 2019, NEURA Robotics builds cognitive robots including the humanoid 4NE1 and the MAiRA and LARA robotic arms.
