Motorola Teases New Foldable Razr as Apple Enters the Segment

Motorola has teased a new compact foldable Razr positioned to compete against Samsung's Galaxy Fold 8 and Apple's newly revealed iPhone Duo, according to Engadget.

The move follows Apple's entry into the foldable market. Android Authority reported that Apple unveiled its first folding phone, the iPhone Duo, during a prerecorded video presentation that also introduced new iPhones and new Apple Watches. The device is set to be available in late October.

The iPhone Duo carries a form factor similar to the squatter Galaxy Z Fold 8. One distinguishing feature is its support for Apple's USB-C Apple Pencil, which works on both the cover screen and the inner display. By comparison, Android Authority noted that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 supported S Pen input on its inner display, but the Z Fold 7 and Z Fold 8 dropped that compatibility, partly over concerns about foldable screen durability.
