Google's Motion Assist Feature Expands Beyond Pixel to More Android Devices

Google is expanding Motion Assist, a feature designed to help reduce motion sickness, to Android devices beyond its own Pixel line, according to Android Authority.

The feature displays small dots along the edges of the screen that move in real time. The movement is intended to help synchronize what a passenger sees with what their body feels while riding in a vehicle, which can lessen the likelihood of motion sickness.

Motion Assist requires Android 17 or higher, which Android Authority reports is needed to render the dots across all system surfaces. Google originally introduced the feature for Pixel owners.

The wider rollout was reported by Google's Mishaal Rahman, cited by Android Authority. Users who are passengers in a moving vehicle can turn the feature on to help reduce the chance of feeling sick.
