Magic Vision, an Italian deeptech startup, has closed a €600,000 funding round to advance its artificial intelligence and computer vision technology for monitoring older people and vulnerable individuals, according to reporting by Tech.eu and EU-Startups.
The round was backed by SixS, the Italian firm behind Gecos, a management software platform aimed at the nonprofit sector, together with a group of Italian business angels whose expertise spans law, compliance and business development.
Founded in 2023, the company develops systems designed to support elderly care and independent living. Its product, Silver Eye, combines AI with environmental sensors to detect falls, spot changes in behaviour and flag potential risks, without requiring the person to wear a device. According to Tech.eu, the technology uses proprietary algorithms to analyse activity and rest patterns, identify anomalies and detect critical events. It is intended for private homes, senior living facilities, cohousing arrangements and residential care settings, including shared spaces occupied by multiple people.
