
Bitmine Nears 5% of Ethereum Supply After Latest ETH Purchase
Tom Lee's Ethereum treasury firm bought another 9,926 ETH, extending a buying streak that began in June 2025, and now says it is 96% of the way to holding 5% of the supply.

Bitmine, the Ethereum treasury company chaired by Tom Lee, has continued expanding its ETH holdings and is approaching 5% of the cryptocurrency's total supply.
According to CoinDesk, the firm acquired an additional 9,926 ETH last week, part of a buying streak that started in June 2025. The company now holds about 4.8% of Ethereum's total supply, CoinDesk reported. Decrypt put the latest purchase at roughly $19 million and cited Lee as saying the firm is 96% of the way toward owning 5% of the supply.
Cointelegraph reported that Bitmine has kept buying Ether, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market value, through the market downturn. The company faces more than $8.4 billion in unrealized losses, according to Cointelegraph. It also reported that more than 5 million of Bitmine's staked ETH is projected to produce about $287 million in annual staking rewards.
