AI Rocket Startup LegendSpace Raises $29.5M in Angel Round

LegendSpace, a Chinese aerospace startup founded roughly six months ago, has raised $29.5 million (200 million yuan) in an angel funding round, according to reporting from SpaceNews and Ventureburn.

The company, whose full name is given as Linjie Hangtian (Beijing), is building rocket propulsion technology with the goal of shortening development cycles for liquid rocket engines. Rather than relying primarily on physical testing, LegendSpace intends to apply artificial intelligence and deep learning to the design of these systems, an approach it says can reduce costs in the capital-intensive aerospace sector.
