NVIDIA Reportedly Rejects RTX 5090 Warranty Claim Over Faded Serial Number
An RTX 5090 Founders Edition owner in the UK says NVIDIA denied their RMA because the serial number on the card's metal bracket had faded and could not be read.

NVIDIA reportedly turned down a warranty claim for a GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition graphics card because the serial number printed on the card's metal bracket had faded until it was no longer legible, according to a Reddit post covered by TechPowerUp and Tom's Hardware.
The owner, who posts on the r/NVIDIA subreddit under the username Willing-Avocado-4830 and is based in the UK, said the card started producing black-screen crashes under heavy load and was sent to NVIDIA for a return merchandise authorization (RMA). Tom's Hardware reported that after 30 days without a response, the owner received an email stating the RMA request had been denied, with no explanation given at first. When the owner asked for clarification, NVIDIA support reportedly said the claim was rejected because the serial number on the bracket had faded.
