European Hardware Startups Stay Scarce at IFA 2026 in Berlin
Coverage from IFA 2026 notes that Asian startups dominated exhibition space, with no European firms among the top winners in one emerging tech category.

European consumer hardware startups had a limited presence at IFA 2026 in Germany, according to reporting from Tech.eu, even as the show drew exhibitors from 49 countries.
Tech.eu observed that Asian startups occupied noticeably more floor space than their European counterparts. Among the 10 winners and 20 honorees in the Best in IFA Next & Emerging Technologies category for 2026, none appeared to be of European origin, according to the outlet.
The closest exception cited was ZENOWELL, an honoree recognised for its vagus nerve stimulation wearable, Zeno One. The company says the concept originated in Heidelberg, Germany, from discussions in a lab at Heidelberg University Medical School. Its co-founder and chief executive, Jo Xue, is also a PhD candidate at Heidelberg University.
