French foodtech startup Edonia has raised €15 million to expand the commercial use of its microalgae-based protein ingredients, according to reporting by Tech.eu and EU-Startups.
The company positions itself as a B2B supplier of ready-to-eat protein ingredients. Its flagship product, Edo, is derived from spirulina and is designed to offer high protein content with a texture and taste that food processing and food service businesses can work with, while keeping the ingredient list short. Edonia describes it as an alternative to protein sources such as meat, cheese and fish.
