AMD has confirmed that its FSR 4 machine learning upscaling technology will be extended to APUs with integrated graphics by the end of 2026, according to TechPowerUp.
The disclosure came from Jack Huynh, senior vice president and general manager of AMD's computing and graphics group, who spoke to South Korean media in Seoul. TechPowerUp reported that AMD plans to broaden FSR 4 availability as it optimizes its software stack for APUs, with the rollout also covering gaming laptops and handheld devices.
FSR 4 initially launched only on RDNA 4-based Radeon RX 9000 series graphics cards. AMD later added support on RDNA 3 hardware with the Radeon RX 7000 series discrete cards over the summer. However, APUs such as Strix Halo, which use RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics, were not covered at that point. Those models are now set to receive official support before the year closes.
