
Paris-based Rivercell exits stealth with €22m to build an AI world model of human cells
The French BioTech and AI startup raised a €22 million seed round led by HV to fund its cell-response data platform and expand its Paris wet lab.

Rivercell, a Paris-based company working at the intersection of biotechnology and artificial intelligence, has come out of stealth with a €22 million ($25 million) seed round, according to reporting by EU-Startups and Sifted.
The startup is developing proprietary cell-response data infrastructure and what it describes as a world model designed to predict how human cells react to treatment. The funding round was led by HV, with participation from HCVC, Alven and Bpifrance Digital Venture.
According to EU-Startups, the capital will go toward scaling Rivercell's data generation platform, expanding its wet lab in Paris, and launching its AI Virtual Cell programme. Sifted noted that the company was founded by an alumnus of Owkin.
