A small 3D printing outfit called Unskilled Design has introduced Mausstudio, a work-in-progress tool for designing custom gaming mouse shells intended for 3D printing, according to TechPowerUp.
The tool lets users import an STL of an existing mouse PCB and set the positions of core components, including screw holes, switches, the scroll wheel, and the sensor. From those reference points, it generates a shell around the hardware using user-defined parameters. The workflow was shown in a recent demo posted on X.
Mausstudio currently supports basic dimensions such as width, length, and height, alongside more specialised options. These include left-handed side button placement, a choice of lightweight or solid base structure, hump positioning, honeycomb cutouts for reducing weight, and battery placement.
